What am I doing presently

I apologise to all my readers for not uploading this blog lately..Btw,I am the only reader so far so ......lol.

To be truthful,I do wish that there were other people reading my blog following it like crazy, putting up arguments and counter arguments, flooding the site with traffic enough to crash its server..And soon then, I would become a millionaire with all the money google adsense would earn me ,I would start my own dotcom company with the money....now I would be on my way to becoming a billionaire......

But until then,I will have to suffice talking to myself...

So,where were we(we=me and me).Yeah,I was telling you what I was upto.It has been in excess of 6 months since I graduated and I still don't have a proper job(something I blame myself for more than anyone else).
What I do have is a contractual job at a small company by the name of Simplifix located at SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Center,IIT Kanpur.

For the uninitated ,SIIC is an organisation that provides budding entrepreneurs money and place to set up a startup company.I,so far, have not come across any company not owned and run by an ex/present IITian

Simplifix is also run by 2 guys both ex-IITians.They had done their integrated MSc in Physics from IITK.I am working on a project of theirs. My job basically involves getting various sub-tasks executed, the fulfilment of all of which, will hopefully lead to the completion of the project and me ...seeing the first real salary of my life. But the funny thing is,I don't execute almost any of these tasks myself. This is how it works

Do
{
They tell me to get a sub-task done.
I go around and find out the right person for the execution of the task
The guy does the task
Guy gets paid by the company for the task
Result:one more task sucessfully executed
} while ( project is not finished or I have not been fired)

Right now,I am on my second subtask. The first subtask involved me getting the dashboard of a car open. For this,I got hold of a mechanic and asked him to open it..while I cooled my heals.

This second subtask, however, has given me some trouble. It basically involves getting a small gear made. This gear was supposed to be a circular ring with 8 square teeth. It is not a mammoth task. However,my lack of knowledge of how such a gear is to be made put me at a major disadvantage.

I ,first of all,had to find out how such a small gear(around 14 mm in diameter) would be made...I was suggested of getting it made through a laser cutting metal tool or something....so after spending around 10 days, running here and there, interlaced with a lot of free time that comes because of my lack of focus and also because of the ample free time that comes with the job,I finally reached the eve of the D-day.The gear was supposed to be cut by a laser the next day.But voila,I was told that it would cost 3 times more of our initial estimate to cut the gear.Reason being that the sheet of metal that the gear would have been made from, was very thick and it would take almost 3 laser machine cutting slots(of 2 hours) each to cut the gear.
My boss refused to go forward with this scheme leaving me to hunt for another scheme.I was told by him to get the job done on a milling machine.

So,there I was the next day near Sangeet talkies along with my kind dad looking for a person who could make the gear using a milling machine. After around an hour's time we did finally find a guy who was ready to make the job.I was apprehensive but still gave him the job.I asked him to make 3 gears instead of one as the additional two gears worked out very cheap.

When I finally did meet him the next day as scheduled,I gave out a cry of joy.He had done the job beautifully. The gears looked perfect.I was ecstatic, took the gears home and couldn't wait till the next day to show them to my boss and get a pat on my back...But,picture abhi baaki hain mere dost(literal translation:The film is not over yet).

I joyfully reached my boss and showed him the job.

----------------------------Quick flashback---------------------------------------
the boss had given me a gear whose dimensions had to be roughly emulated in this new gear that had to be made.I had lost that gear and he had given me a replacement gear. Now,this gear had dimensions different from the original gear that I had lost and I had given this gear only as reference to the gear maker.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But when he put the newly made gear in a slot the gear wouldn't fit.All my excitement (and to an extent, his) drowned in that very moment. He told me that I should have used the original dimensions and that I should take the module along with me in which the gear was to be fitted to the gear maker.

I went back, got the new gear made and voila...I was happy again...Again,I was filled with joy at the prospect of receiving a pat on my back by my boss..
